  • AKTUELL _Mittwoch, 15 Juni 2022, 11.30 – 13.00 Uhr // BVEK - Side Event bei den diesjährigen Klimaverhandlungen in Bonn (SB56) // "Approaches and tools for decarbonizing and deforestation-free supply chains"

    - The event will discuss sustainable supply chain measures in conjunction with climate action of (German) companies and their supply chain partners in the producing countries. In particular, the avoidance or minimization of negative environmental impacts and first and foremost deforestation are looked at. The topic and the need for action are introduced before the opportunities and problems when applying relevant incentive or market mechanisms, tools, processes and procedures as well as potential approaches for solutions are presented and assessed. More specifically, sustainability standards and eco-labels, CO2-pricing instruments, GHG accounting protocols as well as tracking and transparency tools are examined. Due consideration is given to the needs and roles of agricultural value chain actors in the South, including smallholder farming in the context of climate smart agriculture, and SMEs as supply chain actors.

    - The event and more information can be found on the UNFCCC website in the list of side events at https://seors.unfccc.int/applications/seors/reports/events_list.html?session_id=SB%2056.
